AMG-enhanced 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine
A 302-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine features numerous AMG enhancements for instant response. Increased boost from its liquid-cooled turbo puts its 295 lb-ft of torque on tap at just 3,000 rpm, for a 0-60 time of just 5.2 seconds. Rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection act with millisecond speed and molecular precision. Beneath its red-striped engine cover, a lightweight diecast-alloy block, variable valve timing and reduced friction further raise efficiency and performance.
AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 8-speed dual-clutch transmission
The aggressively geared 8-speed DCT combines racing-derived dual-clutch design with AMG SPEEDSHIFT® technology. Able to change gears faster than a human can shift a traditional manual gearbox, its shift paddles and rev-matched downshifts provide instant response. In addition to a Manual mode, the various modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT offer distinctive accelerator and gearshifting characteristics. Carbon fiber friction linings optimize the response and durability of its fast-acting synchros.
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT
A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the twist of a rotary knob. Four modes (Comfort, Slippery, Sport and Sport+) alter the throttle response, shift points and steering effort, and ECO Start/Stop. A fifth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own, even letting you set the transmission for purely manual shifting.
4-wheel Electronic Traction System (4-ETS)

Five adjustable vents in the dash and a pair of rear-cabin air vents help maintain passenger enjoyment throughout the cabin.
Steering-wheel Touch Control Buttons
Innovative Touch Controls elevate the multifunction steering wheel to an unparalleled level of user-friendliness. In addition to fingertip buttons for features like audio, Bluetooth® and cruise control, smartphone-like pads offer direct control of nearly every cockpit feature. Swiping through menus is easy: Your left thumb operates the menu screen in the gauge cluster, and your right thumb controls the large central screen without taking your hands from the wheel's leather-wrapped rim.
Over-the-air software updates
Vehicle software for many features can be updated over the air via Mercedes me, with no need for a dealer visit. It's also one way the "Hey, Mercedes"-activated voice control learns new phrases to stay current with how people talk, in addition to its ability to learn how you speak as well.
Touchpad controller
A large touchpad controller on the console lets you operate the in-dash central touchscreen while your hand rests comfortably at your side. The touchpad works a lot like your smartphone, including multitouch gestures like swiping through menus and pinching to zoom. The touchpad surface includes dedicated Back, Skip and Home virtual keys, and even recognizes handwriting. Adjacent one-touch hard keys access several frequently used functions.

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.
Adaptive braking technology
Adaptive braking technology integrates a suite of advances. If you lift off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming can set the pads closer to the discs for more immediate response when you apply the brakes. In the rain, Automatic Brake Drying can periodically apply the brakes just enough to sweep water build-up from the discs. During uphill starts, Hill-Start Assist can help prevent unwanted rollback. And a brake HOLD feature can make long red lights or stopped traffic a little easier.

Rain-sensing windshield wipers can automatically adjust the intermittent wiper frequency based on the amount of rainfall.
