The AMG Sport Exhaust can revel in the GLE 53's revs, or mellow out when you do. The AMG Performance Exhaust, standard on the GLE 63 and a GLE 53 option, use dynamic flaps to go from cool to crescendo. You can vary its audio output directly or via the modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT.
The power to rein in its power
A range of AMG braking systems starts where some cars stop. Multipiston front calipers grasp sizable perforated discs on either coupe. Supersized 16.5-inch/6-piston front brakes are a GLE 53 option. They're standard on the GLE 63 S, or you can upgrade to a Ceramic Composite option.
A mode for all your driving moods
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT lets you fine-tune your GLE's performance via a console control or the available steering-wheel AMG DRIVE UNIT. Seven programs, from Comfort, Sport+ and Sand to your own Individual mode, can vary throttle mapping, shifting, suspension and more. The GLE 63 S adds a track-ready RACE mode.

Available new GLE technology can spot a traffic jam ahead, slow gracefully, and help negotiate it hands-free up to 37 mph. It can change lanes with a tap of the turn signal. And help make driving safer and less stressful in a variety of ways.
Power front seats with memory
Power front seats feature intuitive, seat-shaped controls on the door, plus a 4-way power lumbar support. To set and save your ideal driving position, a memory system for each front seat recalls three stored positions for the seat, plus the positions of the 4-way power steering column and side mirrors for the driver.
Touchpad controller
A large touchpad controller on the console lets you operate the in-dash central touchscreen while your hand rests comfortably at your side. The large touchpad works a lot like your smartphone, including multitouch gestures like swiping through menus and pinching to zoom. The touchpad surface includes dedicated Back, Skip and Home virtual keys, and even recognizes handwriting. Adjacent one-touch hard keys access major functions and include a programmable "favorite" button.

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
A Mercedes-Benz innovation, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC cruise control uses radar-based technology to adapt your set speed in response to the flow of traffic ahead. If traffic slows down, it can reduce your speed automatically until your path clears. If the vehicle ahead slows to a stop, it can brake to a full halt. When traffic moves, you can resume with just a tap of the accelerator or cruise control button, or it can resume automatically if the stop is under 30 seconds. Available in Driver Assistance Package PLUS.
Active Brake Assist
Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.
