2020 NISSAN GT-R PREMIUM MIDSHIP PLATFORM
In another break with convention, Nissan GT-R’s Premium Midship Platform places the engine farther back in the chassis for better handling. This unique layout also mounts the transmission with the transfer case in the rear of the Nissan GT-R, creating the world’s first independent rear transaxle for an All-Wheel Drive vehicle.
GT-R 3.8-L TWIN-TURBO V6 ENGINE
Nissan challenged convention at every point of the Nissan GT-R’s development. Instead of a large, heavy engine thirsty for fuel, the Nissan GT-R is powered by an ideally sized, twin-turbocharged 3.8-L V6 that produces a prodigious 565 hp and equally immense 467 lb-ft of torque. Just as important as the engineering is the actual assembly, which is done by hand by a single master craftsman, whose signature you’ll find on a small but prominent plaque.
GT-R BREAKS ALL THE RULES
The average car has exposed working gear underneath where wind whips around, creating lift, and slowing you down. The Nissan GT-R, of course, isn’t an average car. Its underbody is virtually covered by composite panels, giving it a flat, aerodynamic surface. At the front of the car, the flat underbody is accelerating the air and channeling it over the brakes, cooling them down. At the back, a carbon-fiber diffuser takes that accelerated air and slows it down, creating a vacuum effect that helps the Nissan GT-R connect to the road, while a duct in the diffuser helps cool the titanium exhaust.
6-SPEED DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION
The longer a shift takes, the less time power is being put to the ground. The GT-R’s sequential dual-clutch transmission can snap off lightning-quick gear changes in just 0.15 seconds when in R-Mode – almost as quickly as you can blink.
ADVANCED ALL-WHEEL DRIVE FOR 24/7 PERFORMANCE
When most supercars stay in the garage or make a hasty retreat, the Nissan GT-R powers through, with ATTESA ET-S®, one of the most advanced All-Wheel Drive and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) systems ever used in a road car.
MONOBLOCK CALIPERS WITH FLOATING DISC ROTORS
The brakes feature 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers for stronger, more equal clamping power – something you’d expect to see on an all-out competition machine. For extreme rigidity with light weight, the caliper is machined from a single one-piece “monoblock” of aluminum. The Nissan GT-R also benefits from a full-floating rotor – a racing technology originated by Brembo®. By allowing the outer disc to expand away from the hub under extreme heat, it reduces the tendency of the rotor to warp.
2020 GT-R APPEARANCE
FORGED ALUMINUM WHEELS
The Nissan GT-R’s rigid forged aluminum 20" wheels, manufactured by RAYS®, utilize knurling inside the wheels to help keep the tires from slipping around the wheels under heavy acceleration or braking. The wheels feature a machined finish, which provides a high-quality, high-performance look.
HANDFORMED TITANIUM EXHAUST
A titanium exhaust helps ensure proper cooling from the engine’s massive output. Notoriously difficult to work with, each exhaust is hand-built by a master craftsman, and is specifically designed for an individual vehicle. A new "burnished" finish to the exhaust tip gives the perfect look – of a high-performance vehicle that's been enjoyed to the fullest.
Nissan GT-R COMFORT
A TACTILE AND VISUAL FEAST
Available semi-aniline leather interior appointments, along with double stitching on the seats, are a tactile and visual feast.
ETCHED ALUMINUM BEZELS
The aluminum bezels surround the ventilation controls feature a subtle etching on the outside to enhance their feel.
GT-R AUDIO BY BOSE®
Designed exclusively for the GT-R, the 11-speaker Bose® audio system’s dual subwoofers sit between the rear seats, employing the trunk as a giant bass enclosure.
2020 Nissan GT-R SAFETY & WARRANTY
Basic Warranty 36 month / 36,000 miles
Zone Body Construction
This advanced body construction combines impact-absorbing structures with a high-strength cabin, which helps provide protection for you and your passengers.
6 Air Bags
Nissan Advanced Air Bag System includes dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. The inflation rate of these dual-stage air bags adjusts depending on crash severity and seat belt usage.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
When it comes to tire pressure, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) takes away the guesswork. Using an icon on your dash, the system notifies you when tires aren’t properly inflated.
