DYNAMIC SELECT
A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the touch of a button. Four modes (ECO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+) alter the throttle response, shift points and steering effort, ECO Start/Stop and more. A fifth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own, even letting you set the transmission for purely manual shifting.
2.0L Inline-4 Turbo Engine
A 241-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 combines numerous advances to deliver more power from less fuel. Its rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection can fine-tune themselves in milliseconds. Its turbocharger spools up quickly to boost response, helping deliver all of the engine's 273 lb-ft of torque at just 1,300 rpm. Widely variable timing of all 16 valves and innovative 3-phase cooling team up to reduce emissions while raising your emotions.
9G-TRONIC Automatic Transmission With Shift Paddles
With a greater range of ratios and shorter steps between gears, the 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic changes gears more quickly but nearly imperceptibly. Along with more seamless delivery of power, the lighter, more versatile transmission enhances comfort and fuel-efficiency. The artful leather and aluminum electronic selector in the console and shift paddles on the steering wheel offer sporty control. And you can alter the shifting character via DYNAMIC SELECT.
Torque Vectoring Brake
Standard Torque Vectoring Brake technology provides additional control and precision in turns via targeted rear-wheel braking. If the vehicle's Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) detects understeer while cornering, the system applies the brake to the inside rear wheel, temporarily shifting torque distribution in favor of the outside wheel. This causes the vehicle to gently pivot in compensation, putting it on a line of travel, or vector, better suited to the turn.

When you remote-lock or unlock the vehicle, special filters and LED lamps beneath each side mirror project the iconic logo of Mercedes-Benz on the pavement. Retractable Hardtop
Transform your SLC from closed coupe to open roadster in under 20 seconds at speeds up to 25 mph. With a single button on the console, the power hardtop folds into the trunk. The rear window pivots as the top lowers to help preserve cargo space with the top stowed.
17-Inch 10-Spoke Wheels
The standard 17-inch alloy wheels feature ten ultrathin, subtly tapered spokes with a luminous silver finish. Staggered in width, the rear wheels and high-performance tires are wider than the fronts, for greater acceleration grip without sacrificing crisp steering feedback.

7-Inch Color In-Dash Display
Featuring a crisp, large 7-inch color display and a central controller on the console, the SLC gives you convenient control of audio, video, hands-free calling and optional navigation functions. Voice Control

NECK-PRO Head Restraints
In the case of a rear impact exceeding a preset threshold, NECK-PRO head restraints move forward and slightly upward, reducing the distance between the head restraints and the heads of occupants. This action helps to reduce the possibility or severity of whiplash-type neck injuries.
Dual Roll Bars
A pair of tubular roll bars, made of fiber-reinforced micro-alloy high-strength steel, are affixed to the car's rigid rear bulkhead. The windshield frame is also fortified with high-strength steel in its pillars.
Active Brake Assist
Radar-based technology alerts you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as the driver starts to brake, the system can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, the system can also initiate braking automatically from a wide range of driving speeds.
Blind Spot Assist
At most driving speeds, radar technology helps sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist then automatically alerts the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. The system also gives an audible warning if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot.
