Athletic V-6 Engine
The Acura RDX engine is equipped with i-VTEC®, which produces power and efficiency from intelligent variable valve timing. It delivers 279-hp and 252 lb-ft of torque across a broad power curve, which transitions onto the road via the Drive-By-Wire system for a bold driving experience.
The 6-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift paddle shifters gives you the best of two worlds – providing the convenience of precise and intuitive automatic shifting as well as shift-for-yourself control.
Since performance driving requires precision braking, the RDX features a firm pedal feel with linear response and is backed by 4-channel anti-lock brakes, Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist systems.
Take a look at RDX through the eyes of Los Angeles architect Steve Upchurch. Unmistakable Acura styling runs across the sculptural body, from the Jewel Eye® LED headlights and 3D grille to the LED rear taillights with light-pipe design. Expressive design details create a powerful first impression.
The RDX dashboard sports the dual-cockpit design found on all Acura models. Displays were designed for at-a-glance information and intuitive control. Shown with the Advance Package and Ebony Interior.
2017 RDX APPEARANCE
Remote Engine Start
With this available feature, you can warm up the engine and heat or cool the cabin temperature - before you get in. On cold days, this RDX feature activates the heated seats and begins to defrost the windshield.
Press a button on the key fob, and the tailgate will automatically open for you. And when you’re finished loading or unloading, press the button again, and it will power down and latch.
Jewel Eye® Headlights
The Jewel Eye®LED headlights carve out their own space in the RDX profile. Brighter, whiter and longer-lasting than traditional headlights, casting a precisely focused beam far into the future.
Acura RDX COMFORT
ELS Studio® Premium Audio System
Tuned by Grammy® Award-winning producer Elliot Scheiner, the ELS Studio® Premium Audio System transforms your RDX into a personal soundstage with extended frequency range, lower distortion and enhanced clarity.
The RDX interior can comfortably seat three adults in the rear, offering each ample legroom and plenty of space under the front seats. Smart engineering allowed us to forego the hump in the middle and place a rear set of adjustable heating and cooling vents.
GPS-Linked Climate Control
This GPS-enabled approach to climate comfort uses a solar sensor to measure the intensity and position of the sun, so the temperature of your cabin’s two climate zones remain as you set them. Part of the Technology Package.
On Demand Multi-Use Display
On Demand Multi-Use Display™ is an intuitive touch screen that combines all the controls you need in one striking 7-inch color system. With the USB Audio Interface®, operate your device through the audio system controls. It puts audio, climate and programmed shortcuts at your fingertips, all with haptic feedback you can feel.
2017 Acura RDX SAFETY & WARRANTY
4-year/50,000-mile limited warranty
Seat Belts & Airbags
The RDX is equipped with a sophisticated six-airbag system, which includes two front and two front side airbags, and two side curtain airbags with coverage for the front and outboard rear seats. All five seating positions in the RDX have 3-point belts and head restraints. The front seats also have load-limiting tensioners.
LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) anchors, plus upper-tether anchors in the rear seat, allow LATCH-compatible child seats to be installed in the outboard positions without the use of seat belts.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Since an under-inflated tire impedes handling and can be a safety hazard, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) uses pressure sensors mounted in each wheel that send readings to a central electronic control unit. The system then evaluates whether the pressure is in an acceptable range.
Vehicle Stability Assist
The Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) system uses an array of sensors along with ABS to minimize the dangers of oversteer or understeer.
